Courtney ~ The Misfit ~

As the awkward one, Courtney Watson may not be as together as her sisters, but she excels at one thing – keeping secrets, including her white-hot affair with a sexy music producer. Planning Mom’s wedding exposes her startling hidden life, changing her family’s view of her – and how she views herself – forever.

Sienna ~ The Free Spirit ~

When Sienna’s boyfriend proposes – in front of her mom and sisters, for crying out loud – he takes her by surprise. She already has two broken engagements under her belt. Should she say “I do” even if she’s not sure she does?

Rachel ~ The Cynic ~

Rachel thought love would last forever … right up until her divorce. As Mom’s wedding day draws near and her ex begs for a second chance, she’s forced to acknowledge some uncomfortable truths about why her marriage failed, and decide if she’ll let pride stand in the way of her own happily ever after.

A must-read for anyone who has survived the wedding of a sister, a mother, a daughter – as told by #1 New York Times bestselling author and master storyteller Susan Mallery!

Main characters profession: CPA, hair &make-up artist, fund raiser, student and hotel maid.

My Thoughts:
Wow! What a fun, emotional and enjoyable story. Susan Mallery is a master story teller and she delivers well with this family story.

Daughters of the Bride, isn’t just about the daughters planning the wedding of their mother, which is the central point of the story; it is also about their parallel and cohesive stories. The daughters, Rachel, Sienna and Courtney along with their mother, the bride Maggie’s upcoming wedding make up for a great story on the whole.

Rachel, the eldest daughter, loves, loses and overtime realizes her flaws and gives her and her relationship a second chance. Not everyone is open to deal with their own imperfections and make a go for life by making better, braver choices and pursue love and happiness. Rachel does all that, she is smart, responsible with little flaws, all of which makes her a good supporting character.

Sienna: is not just the family beauty but a beauty with brains, someone who isn’t afraid to say exactly what she thinks. Not just a pretty face but as real as you and me when it comes to relationships.

Courtney: she has to be my favorite, like she is of the author’s [I read it in one of her interviews; don’t blame just me for being biased 😉

Courtney is too tall for her own good which makes her feel awkward and the odd one out. But she is also parts angry, cautious yet has an open, honest mind and way about her which makes her extremely likeable. Her relationship with Quinn, the hot shot, secretly a good, sensitive man, music producer is like a chocolate dessert on fire. They are so right for each other and their chemistry and honest conversations will have you hooked and wanting more with each of their encounter. Which is exactly what you will get, a slow, hot and sexy build up of their relationship as they both go on with their lives.

There are 3 daughters and their partners, kids, their mother and her upcoming wedding, dogs with personalities and their sharp owner; with so many characters and a wedding there is plenty family drama to keep you occupied. The story is interesting and I wasn’t able to put it down; the plot and characters lives is well written, which is a plus with so many characters. I was easily able to follow their live and shenanigans. My most favorite bits were the gals with their partners, especially Courtney and Quinn. The story is as much about them as it is about their Mum’s wedding. Courtney and Quinn’s will simply give you relationship goals and some fun tips to spice up your love times.

For me, there is never a dull moment in the story, there’s plenty love, fun, drama and if you love family entertainers you will enjoy this story as much as I did. For extra incentive to pick up a copy think of this story as a mini life series /television show [the good types not the crazy Kardashian’s type]. Now, buy the book, get some wine, popcorn and sit back to enjoy reading.
