From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a brand new series set on Blueberry Lane!

The Director and Don Juan is the second of four books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.

Heiress Alice Story left her father’s company three years ago in a blaze of glory, inviting all of his employees to jump ship and join her, but only one accepted her offer: mail room clerk, Carlos Vega.

While Alice spent the next three years getting her own company off the ground, Carlos became her indispensable right-hand man — executive assistant and office manager, loyal counsel and trusted co-worker.

And all the while, they were quietly falling in love with each other.

When Alice is offered a lucrative business deal in Puerto Rico, island-born Carlos is the perfect person to accompany her on her trip as translator, but as they travel together from Philadelphia to Santo Domingo to Ponce, two unlikely co-workers will discover that during their three years working together, their feelings for each other have grown far deeper than they ever could have guessed.

And though business-minded, proper Alice will try her very best to ignore the longings of her heart, scorching hot, insanely sexy Boricua, Carlos, has no intention of letting her go.

My thoughts

Alice and Carlos are the latest couple on Blueberry Lane. Alice is from old money, one of Philly’s old families on the Blueberry Lane. She is from money yet she is strong independent, willing to and working for her own way through life. When her conservative father fails to acknowledge her talent in business and give her, her due she strikes out on her own. The only person to follow Alice from her father’s to her own office is Carlos Vega.

Our hero, Carlos is Puerto Rican, totally hot, sexy, sensitive, caring, hardworking and comfortable in his own skin. Exactly the way most of us like our men, and trust me bookworms he is one of them perfect book boyfriends. While men always drool after Latinas, bookworms we have our very own Latino in Carlos. You are going to love him. He is so in tune with Alice it will make you giddy and weak at the knees at how he cares for and treats her not only out of but in the bedroom too.

Yes, the chemistry is sizzling, it goes from simmering hot to sizzling in a blink of an eye once the couple accept and voice their feelings for each other. They have been working together for 3 years strictly on professional terms which changes as soon as their 2 person team sees more people joining the office. Soon their feelings start getting stronger, jealously and protectiveness comes out eagerly; things change for the better when Alice and Carlos take their first solo business trip abroad.

What I loved about the story.

Alice’s personality, how she is  strong, uncompromising when it comes to work. Personally she is soft, vulnerable and true to herself when it comes to love and  being with Carlos.

Carlos, Boy!! I loved how comfortable he was in his own skin. His confidence in his love for Alice, putting her fears to rest and strengthening her believe in them. How he handles the differences between them and finds solutions to all of Alice’s concerns before she actually voices them.

Alice’s thoughts on Love and intimacy, I mean that is how many of us feel and want but we rarely get it. So when Alice found exactly what she was looking for it was a moment to cheer all around.

So overall, the latest couple of Blueberry Lane has yet again won my heart, the author keeps coming up with these winners and keeping my love for her writing alive and kicking.

I am so looking forward to the next in series especially as the next heroine, Elizabeth is bit of an uppity, uptight one. Can’t wait to find out who melts her ice. I have to wait for its release but if you are in the US you can pre order a copy of the next book The Flirt and the Fox.

Till the next one, keep reading an dreaming bookworms.

Don’t forget to preorder The Flirt and the Fox!
