Reading Wrap Up

January 2019 – Mini Reviews of Books I read this month

Hello my fellow readers, the first month of January is over, that went pretty fast, eh. This year, I’ve decided to, try to, do posts and things in general which are out of my comfort zone. (Here’s wishing me luck for it)

Let me tell you about the books I read this month, some are advanced copies which are releasing this month or over the next couple of months. My source for the advanced copies is Netgalley and or Authors’. Hope you find some new stories, books, authors to discover via this lot. So, here goes my first post of reading wrap up.

1- Trails of Love is Melissa Foster‘s latest release. It’s a typical story of girl meets guy, there’s attraction, falling in love, all at a pretty fast pace. I have read so many books in the extended series by the author, that all stories have started to feel more or less the same.

What initially made me read tbe series is the relationship chemistry between the couples. It borders on aspirational and how we all wish our partners were. That’s the only reason I still these stories.

Released – January 2019.

2 – An impossible thing called Love by Belinda Missen

Released November 2018.

This was a new to me author and I will have a dedicated review soon as part of the blog tour. In the mean time if you like adventure with a side of chick lit, you can safely pick up this read soon.

Stay Tuned for the review.

3 – Coming Home to Holly Close Farm by Julie Houston

Releasing February 5, 2019.

Ah, this was my favorite read of the month. A cosy story with some perfectly flawed and lovable characters. It was a very engaging and enjoyable read.

4 – When you read this by Mary Adkins

Releasing February 5, 2019.

I was very intrigued with this title when I requested it via Netgalley. However, I was convinced of the plot as I felt it is the type of story which will make more sense reading on paper. The dialogue is primarily via email conversations and reading it in an ebook format just felt off. Also, the story kind of ended abruptly and all round wasn’t a pleasant reading experience.

5 – Blue Ink by Tess Thompson

Published 21st January, 2019

I do have a dedicated book review post for this title, check it out here.

6 – The Pieces of You and Me by Rachel Burton

Releasing 21/2/2019.

This is an emotional read and I have the book review coming up as part of the Blog Tour, so stay tuned for that.

7 – Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Releasing 7/3/2019

I love Rock N Roll. This took right in the middle pf a popular rock band. The sex, drugs, drama, and the pure music was an exhilarating experience.

8 – Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin

Releasing in March 3rd,2019.

Rebecca’s books are always a pleasure to read. This was great fun, where the lead character leaves a city job behind and goes traveling in a caravan doubling as a tea shop. I loved the whole caravaning experience and the touches of whimsy, books, tea and romance in this story.

9 – An Unconventional Affair Part 2 by Mollie Blake

Released January 2019.

I loved this story and here’s the dedicated book review.

10 – There’s something about a Cowboy by Rich Amooi

Released January 2019.

This is fun read with some swoony Cowboy action. Here’s the full review.

11 – The Book of Dreams by Nina George.

Releasing April 18, 2019.

This is a book about Dreams, dreams people have when they’re in Coma. The story was a bit complicated and took some time getting a hang of but engrossing nonetheless.

12 – The Love of a Lifetime by Melissa Hill

Released 2017.

I read this at the start of the month and was mostly alright. The start was pretty good and reminiscent of old Hollywood charm, my disappointment was with the ending, which felt a bit anti climatic.

So that’s my 12 books for January 2019, comment and let me know how was your reading this month.
