It’s not PMS, It’s You by Rich Amooi #bookreview #blogtour @rararesources @RichAmooi

Hello lovely readers, hope you doing well and having a good weekend. Today’s review is of a romantic comedy by Rich Amooi, I must say he writes a fun romance filled with laughs and humour, of the good kind (not fluff).

Ruth “Ruthless” Harper is on the verge of becoming managing partner at her all-male consulting firm and she won’t let anything stand in her way. That includes men, relationships, and that dreaded F word, FEELINGS—distractions she eliminated long ago.

After the worst day ever (a near-death experience and a public wedgie, for starters), Ruth realizes she doesn’t want to live and die alone. She puts together a business plan to find the perfect man and dives head first into the murky online dating pool. All she wants is a high-powered executive who understands how important her career is. If only it were that easy.

Problem is most men are intimidated by Ruth’s confidence and shocked by her bluntness. The exception being her landscape designer, Nick, whose cool demeanor and unsolicited dating advice are driving her nuts. He’s the antithesis of the business-oriented man Ruth envisions for herself, so why do all signs keep pointing back to him?

My thoughts

The story is about Ruth, who at some very appropriate moments in the story mentions the title It’s not PMS, It’s You to the, you guessed right, obnoxious men around her. It made me laugh everytime she said it.

The characters, Ruth and Nick, are in their 40s so one might assume they fall in love in a serious albeit boring way, but No. Love is love no matter the age, it was fun, sweet seeing them fall for each other complete with several swoon worthy moments.

There are other characters in the story, good ones who add a lot of pizzaz to the story without taking away any attention from the lead couple, but I really liked how the story focuses on the lead couple.

I would say if you are looking for a no nonsense, humorous and somewhat drama free romance give this book a try. It’s a pretty quick read, perfect for a travel, a self care date or just to feel good.
