#bookreview Come back for Me by Corinne Michaels

Happy New Year lovely readers.

2020 is here and the first #bookreview on the blog is #comebackforme by #corinnemichaels

Corinne is a pretty new to me author. When I got a chance to read this title I grabbed it easily as the story sounded nice (sweet, emotionally charged). That’s how it literally was but more too. So here’s the details and my thoughts on it. Happy Reading.

Title – Come Back For Me

Author – Corinne Michaels

Published 7/1/2020

Come Back for Me, an all-new emotional and riveting standalone from New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels, is LIVE!

One night, eight years ago, she gave me peace.
No names.
No promises.
Just two broken people, desperate to quiet their pain and grief.

In the morning, she was gone and had taken my solace with her. I left for the military that day, vowing never to return to Pennsylvania.

When my father dies, I’m forced to go home to bury him. At least I’ll finally be rid of his farm, which is grown over and tangled with memories I’ve fought to forget.

And that’s when I find her. She’s even more beautiful than I remember and has the most adorable kid I’ve ever seen.

Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this time I refuse to let her go. They say you can’t bury the past, and they’re right. Because when long-ago secrets are exposed, rocking us both to the core, I have no choice but to watch her walk away again . . .

My thoughts

Come Back for Me is a bittersweet story. It portrays 2 sides of a relationship which make the lead character Ellie’s life go round. She experiences bitterness and sweetness in overwhelming measures due to love.

Connor is the sweet part in this emotionally charged story and I enjoyed him. He is great with Ellie, her daughter and his brothers.

Come Back for me, deals with domestic abuse which was chilling in the way it deceives and hides in open. Warning If that’s something you do not wish to experience in your fiction, I would say it was handled well in this story. The bitterness was balanced with enough love, care and kindness that it soothes and makes you hope.

Overall a pretty emotional, sweet read.
