Title – Mr Right Across The Street

Author – Kathryn Freeman

Genre: Romantic comedy

Publication Date: 22nd January 2021

Publisher – One More Chapter

Mia Abbott’s move to Manchester was supposed to give her time and space from all the disastrous romantic choices she’s made in her past. But then the hot guy who lives opposite – the one who works out every day at exactly 10 a.m., not that Mia has noticed thank-you-very-much – starts leaving notes in his window…for her.

Bar owner Luke Doyle has his own issues to deal with but as he shows Mia the sites of her new city he also shows her what real romance looks like for the first time. And when he cooks up a signature cocktail in her honour, she realises that the man behind the bar is even more enticing than any of his creations. And once she’s had a taste she knows it will never be enough!

My thoughts

Mr. Right across the Street is a sweet romance especially for the nerds/geeks. We have a beauty and geek situation reversed here with a swoony hunk and a geeky heroine. For the beauty we have the handsome bartender Luke, across the street from our geeky heroine Mia.

Our lead couple may have started off on a wrong foot but that didn’t dim the sparks they felt on their first meeting. It is only fun when they gawk at each other in secret from their windows which happen to be exactly across from their spare rooms. Mia works with a great view of the hunk across working out every morning in his window. It is only a Happy coincidence which turns into them exchanging noteson their windows, making up for getting off on the wrong foot at Luke’s pub downstairs.

Soon, Mia, who is new to Manchester and without friends, has Luke with the cute messages in the window, some new girlfriends she makes in Luke’s pub and her building. What starts as innocent messages in the window develops into a friendship and we see Mia helping Luke with his pub, she is a computer whiz you see. As they work closely Mia gets to know the romantic side of Luke but she also gets familiar with his playboy reputation. Vary of love and obsessive exes Mia keeps Luke at an arm’s length but still keeps falling for him, one non date at a time.

Mr. Right across the Street is a cutesy romance and I Loved the whole exchanging of messages in windows which surprisingly isn’t just a click bait but is an integral part of the story right to the end. A well done light hearted, flirty romance which will win some hearts and give you ideas for some great dates to plan.

Author Bio –
A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a sexy hero.  With a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.
