My thoughts
Book 3 in the Rousseau’s of Blueberry Lane is a super hit. Now that the younger Rousseau siblings are well on their way to parenthood and marriages it’s the turn of eldest JC’s to find himself a partner. I am glad that Katy wrote his story last, he is absolutely irresistible and the perfect way to end the Rousseau series. The other books in the series, stories of JC’s sisters Jax and Mad are Dreamy no doubt and I love them but JC and Lib’s story is the icing on a very delicious, orgasmic good chocolate cake. Yes that good 😉
JC is attracted to Libitz who is as different as chalk and cheese from his usual type. But JC’s heart is tugging hard and he simply can’t get, sharp, even a bit cold and unwelcoming to him, Libitz out of his mind. Just to get her out of his mind he even acts like an ass and insults her without success. Lib has a new home in JC’s heart, mind and soul.
Libitz is a sharp, cold to strangers, loyal to friends, a woman who knows her mind, grabs what she wants and has no regrets for taking what she wants. She is a strong, fierce business woman, a loyal friend to JC’s sister in law Kate English. She also knows how to have fun and never regrets or feels ashamed to having a fun, one night stand when it suits her. Basically a woman who takes and gives as good as a man.
Libitz, knowing what a player JC is treats him like shit and vows not to fall for him for the sake of her friendship with Kate English. But she is as affected by JC as he is by her, even when he’s being a pig to her. Their first encounter leaves them both deeply attracted yet frustrated and deeply embedded in each other’s minds and hearts.
What happens next is how they spar, which is like witnessing beautiful, colorful fireworks; and make space for each other in their lives. Their hot, cold conversations left me breathless. Their personalities are fun, sassy and charming. If I were to meet either of them I would definitely have ruffled feathers but togehter, towards each other they are AMAZING. They are so good to each other that it makes them warm, good and happy in general. The rough edges are smoothened, their personalities shine and they ooze power, warmth and friendliness in the family dynamic.
You would think 2 strong, somewhat domineering personalities coming together might clash but no Love triumphs. Libitz is a strong woman, yet she has a fun, charming element in her personality. She is a heroine after my heart, she has integrity, loyalty and decency. I even like her a lot more than Jean Christian. That said JC is more like the guy I look for personally but with less notches up his belt 😉
Another part of the story which I absolutely loved and enjoyed was the Art and the story of Bijoux Jolis. Historical romance/fiction lovers will eat it up and I would even love to ask Katy to write a historical fiction story based on it. Hope you reading this Katy 🙂
